Azure App Configuration is a generally available Azure service that allows users to centrally manage application settings and feature flags within the cloud (https://aka.ms/AzureAppConfiguration). Users can use App Configuration to securely store all the key-value settings in one place and consume stored settings from within applications, build pipelines, release processes, microservices, serverless apps, and other Azure resources.

This engineering team is in the Developer Division under the Cloud and AI (C+AI) business group. The team is responsible to build a highly scalable, reliable, and low latency service that can enable customers’ need for configuration in all scenarios, which cover all major programming languages, applications, services, systems, and environments.. We look into the pain points customers are facing in every scenario and provide end to end solutions. Your domain knowledge in various areas in any technology stacks with configuration and feature management can be a valuable addition to the team. We expect engineers to write high-quality code and tests, and own the DevOps lifecycle. We value different perspectives on the problems that we face and encourage team members to have visibility to all aspects of our product.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in service feature design, review with engineers and PMs
  • Take ownership of end to end feature development from design, coding, testing to deployment and bug fixing
  • Gain full-stack development experience from backend to frontend
  • Help design and implement solutions that enable isolation and containment for securing Microsoft Government clouds and security-sensitive customers
  • Be part of a Dev-Ops team that handles and remediates customer issues
  • Collaborate with partner teams to expand integration capabilities of our service
  • Contribute to improving service performance, scalability, availability and resilience globally

Qualifications

Security Clearance Requirements:

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customers and/or government security screening requirements for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.

Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Core qualifications:

3-6 years of software development experience

Strong problem-solving skill and ability to work independently

Excellent coding and designing skills

Working knowledge of web and cloud technologies preferred

Great communication and collaboration skills

BS in CS/CE or related science major
