|Job Type:||Full Time|
Every industry will be disrupted by the power and intelligence of the cloud. And the future always begins with Developers. In Azure Developer Platform and Services team, we are innovating around how developers build applications for the cloud, in the cloud. We are a tight-knit team of customer centric, energetic, data-driven product managers.
We continually strive to learn the needs of different developers, build solutions that make sense for our developer customers and Microsoft, and create products that are delightful to use. And we work hand-in-hand with one of the most customer-focused engineering teams in the world.
We’re looking for a senior leader to lead and grow a team of PMs who are focused on Azure SDKs, a key touchpoint for developers with Microsoft’s strategic cloud platform. This leader will drive product management discipline for SDKs built around scenarios that cover the breadth of Azure. They will also build and run programs that holistically look at the different elements of making Azure services delightful and productive for all kinds of developers and applications.
In this role, you’d create a unified platform with consistent APIs; where diagnostics, logging, security, identity, and error handling are ubiquitous and consistent; where the SDKs are consistent with each other; and where the ecosystem of third party and open source software that developers expect to use with Azure are enabled.
This role offersthe perfect mix of technical plus business and product development. We like to think that our job is half anthropology – studying how developers use their tools, and half craftsmanship – refining the workflows we enable to ensure that we’re optimizing every second of the developers’ workflow. If this sounds interesting to you, come join us!
Some of the activities this team is responsible for include:
- Running the project as a Microsoft-wide open source project with common engineering systems
- Defining and managingthe end-to-end developer experience around SDKs for each Azure service
- Running user research, customer development, market research and competitive analysis
- Build and operate the API and SDK review processes for all of Azure
- Partnering with Developer Advocates, Documentation, UX Research and Azure service teams to deliver a delightful developer experience across the breadth of Azure
The ideal person for this role would have the breadth of context on what developers are trying to build with the cloud along with depth necessary to speak to the shortcomings of the developer experience across the major cloud service providers. They would set the vision for the team, define and enable key metrics and OKRs, demonstrate management excellence and build strong partnerships.
