Job Overview

TE Connectivity, a global industrial technology leader, is seeking a Digital Product Merchandizing Manager to lead the design, delivery, management and optimization of our customer facing digital product catalog.

The Digital Product Merchandising Manager is responsible for defining the strategy and roadmap to enable product findability, evaluation and selection through comprehensive, complete and high-quality product data, that is optimized for search, navigation and syndication strategies. To be effective, this leader must operate successfully in a complex cross-functional environment, collaborating with key partners both within the Digital Business organization and across the broader TE enterprise -- working closest with Digital Capability Leaders, UX Design, Analytics, Enterprise Product Taxonomy and Data Management, Technology, and product data/content creators within multiple Business Unit Engineering, Product Management and Marketing teams.

Requirements:
  • Develop merchandising browse structures that reflect how our customers perceive, and think about, our extensive product selection.
  • Build out, and manage, the long-term strategy for all customer facing digital merchandising taxonomies.
  • Provide stakeholder guidance on our merchandising taxonomy and product findability, as well as explain decisions made by the Digital Taxonomy team.
  • Research, and explore, innovations, and best practices, within the product merchandising and taxonomy discipline.
  • Expand, and refine, data retrieval and enrichment strategies and techniques for our extensive product catalog and ensure our products end up in the right place for our customers.
  • Request and coordinate merchandising taxonomy needs with the Enterprise Product Data and Taxonomy Management team.
  • Track products featured in marketing exposures to ensure availably in our merchandising taxonomy.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Managers, Product Engineers, and other stakeholders to drive collaborative projects to completion and ensure a cohesive customer experience across all touch points.
  • Analyze website metrics and customer behavior data to make intelligent decisions to optimize our merchandising taxonomy.
  • Provide front end support, and access management, for our product promotion system while actively seeking enhancements to improve the user experience both for our internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Coordinate with our localization partners to ensure that our merchandising taxonomy aligns across all supported languages and cultures.
  • Recommends, and leads, implementation of improvements.
  • Lead scalable and sustainable day-to-day operations including governance, ongoing maintenance and communications to the enterprise community of practice.
  • Generate analytical reports on categorization, search, findability and related user behavior.
  • Participate in key meetings with stakeholders including requirement sessions, user acceptance testing, and end user training.
  • Can balance diving deep enough to support the Digital Taxonomy team’s day-to-day needs while also thinking big enough to raise the bar.
What your background should look like:
  • A degree in Library or Information Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven skills in data retrieval techniques
  • 6+ years experience in taxonomy development
  • Experience working on both local and global taxonomies
  • Passionate about website usability with great instincts for improving the customer browse experience
  • Ability to quickly understand complex processes and communicate them in a simple language
  • Experience with complex, broad and deep product data catalogs.
  • Proven leadership skills and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of taxonomy best practices and standards.
  • Experience with global engineering, and manufacturing, industries.preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience managing complex roadmaps
  • Proven ability to work and deliver effectively in customer-focused, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Great verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear, and concise, manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Detail oriented, decisive, self-motivated, and calm under pressure.

Other Desired Qualifications Include:

  • Experience with Hybris product content management software and Synaptica taxonomy management tools.
  • Experience managing a catalog for a large website.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Experience preparing business, or technical, documentation.
