Microsoft’s Cosine, Devices and Gaming (CDG) Security Team is responsible for some of Microsoft’s largest and most important online services including the Windows Update, Windows Marketplace, Xbox Live, Microsoft Game Studios, and many more.

The CDG Security team is looking for a candidate with excellent program management skills and consultative mindset, backed with strong communication and collaboration experience, and someone who makes a business impact in complex and challenging environments. If this sounds like you, we have an excellent opportunity in the Services Security PM Team.

Responsibilities

Consult with a wide range of Microsoft service groups and service owners to educate and influence the actions necessary to improve service security across the various groups.

Organize specialized, Microsoft wide, virtual teams to improve the security posture. Own definition, solution proposals, execution, and operationalization of multi-year security programs around Identity Management, Isolation, Getting/Staying Secure and other broad security topics.

Lead and drive progress of all programs against a schedule. Collaborate with other engineering teams to align services and optimize resources. Be accountable to Partner and CVP level leadership.

Take a data centric view to driving adoption of security technologies. Drive the requirements of dashboards to ensure timely, accurate reporting.

Contribute to improving the security posture of all online services in CDG, design/develop new security centric features and programs with a focus on strategy and scalability.

Leverage a broad understanding of security tools to help teams select the best tool for their needs. Provide timely, succinct, relevant, and technical guidance to enable business partner to act and implement the program objectives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Experience in one or more of the following technologies: (Azure, Active Directory, Identity/Authentication; E-commerce; Crypto; Databases; Operational Security and/or the Security Development Lifecycle [SDL])

Program Management experience working with engineering teams to design and deliver a customer-centric solution

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in security (engineering, program management, operations, consulting and/or support)

Bachelor of science or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent work experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to deal with ambiguity; great cross-group and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt quickly to lead programs/projects and to enable innovation, and thirst for continual learning

Internal and external regulations that guide security processes (SDL, SOX, PCI-DSS, etc.)

MCSE, CISSP, ISSAP, CCIE Security, GCIA, or GCFW Certifications is a plus

Experience using Agile Methodology or Scrum software development


Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
