The Microsoft 365 Suite Services team is looking for its next great team member! We are responsible for the services that power the suite header (the top 48 pixels of almost every M365 web application), Office.com and suite-wide customization and entitlement-based data for over 70 workloads in both commercial and consumer. We are also planning and designing new service capabilities to power an exciting new set of experiences for Microsoft. Through our services, we help consistently define how customers use and perceive Microsoft 365 as a suite. We partner with teams across the company to power web and native experiences beyond the traditional Office contexts. Our engineers own service updates from inception through shipping and are responsible for them as they are called billions of times per day for millions of users.

As a team, we believe very strongly in having a great customer experience, a great team experience and a great individual developer experience. While maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance, we keep things as lightweight as we possibly can both in terms of how our services work, our processes for operating them as well as how our team runs itself. Our services are run fully in Azure, on both Cloud Services and Service Fabric, written in C# using .NET Core 3.1 and Framework 4.7.2 runtimes. We also take advantage of several other Azure services to power our own. If you want to work on a healthy team that owns a cloud-based product that has scale, reach and growth, this may the right place for you.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for passionate engineers who enjoy building at scale services that enable interesting office scenarios. Our team is primarily a backend service team, using C# and Azure Dev Ops/Git, building on Azure.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated familiarity with .NET Core and ASP .NET Core

- Knowledge of Azure services with demonstrated work with Azure Service Fabric desirable

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- Solid design and problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for engineering excellence at scale.

- Strong software programming skills in C#, Java, or C++.

- 3+ year experience software engineering experience
