The Education Data Platform team is looking for a customer facing, deeply technical and solutions focused leader working in the role of aM365 Edu Customer Solutions architect roleproviding a solid and growing team with passion to make a difference in the future of education.This new role is pivotal to ensuring our customers and deployment teams are designing, creating and deploying identity, integration, and solutions across the M365 platforms. The Education Team at Microsoft is a group of high talented, passionate, and eager program managers, project and product managers, engineers, architects, and brings a focused approach to deliver Microsoft value across all of the Education spectrum. We have resources, opportunity, and above all phenomenal customers across K12 and Higher Education as well as working hand-in-hand with our Partners, EdTech Providers (ISVs), and System Integrators to build, deploy, and growth the Education Data Platform, a solution that will change the landscape of how education data is managed, captured, stored, shared, and secured. We are looking for solutions architects with both broad and deep technology knowledge with the ability to architect solutions by mapping common customer business problems to end-to-end technology solutions.

  • Ability to engage in senior level IT and business decision makers’ discussions related to agility, business value, and end to end IT
  • Act as enabler for other Architects, Consultants and Partners across our business
  • Show passion for the customer through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer engagement
  • Apply advanced analysis skills and experience in principals of architecture to define appropriate customer solutions
  • Be credible by possessing current and deep experience with implementation of large software systems
  • Understand competitive technology and how to properly assess feasibility of migrating customer solutions from, and/or integrating with customer solutions hosted on, non-Microsoft platforms
  • Represent and deliver the full value of Microsoft technologies and services to our customer
  • Should have expert level knowledge required to assist customers/partners in architecting, planning, testing, and deploying solutions and their experience
  • Proven success and expertise in architecting innovative solutions primarily in a client-facing role
  • Track record of delivering quality solutions as a technical leader
  • Ability to execute using standard architectural methods, processes, and tools
  • Proven experience selling consulting engagements, which includes estimating, scoping, and writing effective statements of work that clearly set expectations and limit risk
  • Demonstrated excellence facilitating customer design & awareness sessions focused on complex application solution architectures
  • Deep Technology knowledge, ideally with experience in multiple sectors and industries
  • Demonstrated capabilities in developing an understanding of the customer business value associated with the deployment of modern business productivity, system-to-system, and end-user applications
  • Architectural understanding of and implementation experience with the following solution architecture areas: Modern Applications, Business Productivity including but not limited to portal and browser-based workflow solutions, Application Architectures including the use of cloud-based technology capabilities such as Azure and SPO, Application Life Cycle Management and Application Platform processes and technology capabilities, Data and DB Management, SQL/BI, and application middle-ware and messaging architectures
  • Large enterprise deployment experience in complex heterogeneous environments 
  • Ability to move between high-level architectural review/design; level of actually doing all phases of an application delivery project
  • Experience leading virtual teams on high complexity, high value projects

  • Take an active leadership role in the Edu Customer Success team serving customersglobal needs
  • Join a robust and empowered team to challenge, grow, and evolve the existing customer facing implementations, deployments, trainings, and support capabilities to create Ravings Fans across a diverse, global customer base
  • Provide direct leadership to a growing team of peers and team members to empower each of them to achieve more through your impact across the organization
  • Build strong support among peers and team members accountable for generating performance based goals including delivery, satisfaction, and internal
  • Design, build, and collaborate on global programs including certifications for Education Partners to increase our ability to scale, improve levels of service and satisfaction across our customer base

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5-8 years of experience in designing, building and/or delivering solutions to customers at scale, quickly, and thoroughly across M365 solutions

Preferred:

  • Understand cloud deployment and adoption planning to drive Customer Satisfaction
  • Working knowledge of the Education market preferred but not required
  • Value experience beyond the degree. Degree in BI, Engineering or Business, with technical aptitude, willingness to continually learn or equivalent years of market experience
  • Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and follow through
  • Problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, where and when needed, to do what’s right for the customer, partner and for the organization (i.e. think through workarounds, evaluate risk of various deployment options, etc.)
  • Demonstrated technical thought leadership in customer facing situations
