Senior Technical Program Manager, Digital Security Risk Engineering (DSRE) – Emerging Technology & Standards, Security Standards & Configurations Team

Digital Security and Risk Engineering (DSRE) is looking for a senior engineering technical program manager to join the Cloud Services Standards team. Are you passionate for Cloud Services and Security, then this is you opportunity to be a leader in setting the security Standards for how Microsoft leverages cloud technologies in the enterprise. In this role you will work with different groups within CSEO as well as Product Groups in setting the direction on how specific Cloud Services are used in a secure manner. This is a fantastic opportunity to have broad company impact, grow connections across the company, and have visibility to leadership.

In this role you will be a Subject Matter Expert in at least one 1st party Cloud Platform (e.g. Azure, O365, Dynamics, ..) and will be empowered to determine which services and features are acceptable for use and how they should be used. You will be responsible for creating security guidance that will enable engineering teams and end users to implement services in a secure manner and assessment teams to validate engineering designs and deployments.

The successful candidate is a leader with a track record achieving results through influence in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop security vision, roadmap, and priorities for one or more Cloud Platform(s).
  • Serve as Security Subject Matter Expert within CSEO and other Microsoft groups alike on one or more Cloud Platform(s).
  • Lead and Identify cross-organizational teams to create and maintain Security guidance (e.g. Baselines, Reference Architectures, Design Patterns, Control Procedures) for one or more Cloud Platform(s).
  • Evaluate capabilities and features for one or more Cloud Platform to identify gaps against our security standards and drive security gap resolution.
  • Communicate progress to leadership on efforts towards securing one or more Cloud Platform(s).

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical program management, software engineering, or similar role.
  • 5+ years of administration, security experience, and/or software engineering on one or more Cloud Platforms (Preferably 1st party)
  • Extensive leadership skills, including the ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across multiple business groups.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate across diverse teams, with different styles, in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to management.

Preferred, not required:

  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise IT service delivery.
  • 5+ years of experiences producing quality technical documentation.
  • Experience conducting security reviews.
  • Experience planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Administrator, developer, and/or security experience with one or more of the following platforms: Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365 Enterprise (Office, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Yammer, Power Platform, Analytics, AI Platform, others).
  • Experience securing cloud solutions or strong information security background.

The ideal candidate must be experienced in securing Microsoft could solutions and have experience working on a matrix organization with a strong ability to lead through influence. Must be able to effectively drive conversations with clear intent and in alignment with project/program objectives and priorities.
