Position Description:

The Vice President of Chapter Engineering will oversee the development of the Chapter Area Leaders across multiple technical domains and Chapters, and ensure they work in concert with one another. A technologist and servant leader at the core, this executive will be responsible for ensuring consistent and appropriate performance, technical skilling and allocating of Chapter Area Leads, Chapter Leaders and chapter members to best support the need of Product and Value Stream Engineering teams.

This leader will be accountable for setting consistent performance, user experience, leadership behaviors, quality standards and culture across all Chapters and technical domains. The Vice President will coach the teams to continuously improve their process and practices, drive out waste and toil, and to foster a culture of continuous innovation and learning. In addition, this individual will effectively collaborate and negotiate with peers within Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure Systems (EAIS) and leadership across the broader technology organization.


  • Develops Chapter construct across EAIS into a highly technically competent, consistent, thoughtful and customer-centric team of technology experts.
  • Partners with Product Managers and Value Stream Engineering leaders to ensure all Chapters appropriately support their needs.
  • Fosters a culture of excellence and continuous learning within EAIS with a strong focus on professional services delivery model.
  • Responsible for establishing and tracking to appropriate OKRs to ensure outcomes are met.
  • Responsible for instilling a sense of purpose, curiosity and continuous learning with each and every Chapter Area Leader, Chapter Lead and member, motivating all to achieve their best.
  • Owns the career and performance management process for all of the Chapter models to ensure a consistent approach and that the technical competencies continues to consistently evolve to effectively support technology strategy needs.
  • Attracts, onboard, develop and retrains talent to achieve the strongest Area possible.
  • Utilizes peer VP, product leader and value stream’s feedback and performance metrics to identify areas of continuous improvement within team.
  • Engages with internal and external communities of practice to share experiences, contribute knowledge, learn and advocate for the Discover Technology brand.
  • Develops own technical, coaching and leadership skills to stay in-line with industry trends and internal demand.
  • Supports the engineering of solutions for special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Management or related field
  • 10+ years of experience as a technologist, ideally with technology solution delivery
  • Experience managing large technical teams across a diverse set of capabilities with a consultative or professional building mindset
  • 5+ years of Agile engineering experience
  • Consulting or product background

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems Management or related field
  • 15+ years of experience as a technologist, ideally with technology solution delivery
  • Experience managing large technical teams across a diverse set of capabilities with a consultative or professional building mindset
  • Financial services industry experience
