Microsoft Edge has adopted the Chromium Open Source project and our team is on an amazing journey to advance the web platform for all developers and end-users, across operating systems and devices. We are contributing to the Chromium project in layout, accessibility, scrolling performance, editing, controls, composition, animation, input, graphics, media, networking, storage and many other areas, powering Microsoft Edge and other Chromium based browsers. We are looking for engineers interested in evolving the web forward in graphics and media. You would be contributing to upcoming standards like WebGPU, WebXR, Media Capabilities. Just as importantly you would be advancing performance, battery life in the chromium graphics pipeline and have a meaningful impact on millions of customers by addressing their current pain points.

We’ve made a lot of progress, but we’re just getting started! We have a lot of ideas for what the future of Edge can be, and we’d love yours as well.


As a senior engineer on our team you will:

  • Develop and improve features with a focus on needs of our customers and developers
  • Deliver web platform innovation in important areas of the browser engine
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with partner teams and the open source community 


  • 5+ years of C++ experience is required
  • Prior experience working with graphics, media or browser engines implementing web technologies is required

  • 3+ years of app development experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Skills and demonstrated product impact in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript is highly desired
  • Cross-platform development experience is preferred
