At Microsoft, we believe privacy is a fundamental human right. Microsoft’s Windows, Browsers & Devices Privacy team is responsible for some of the Company’s largest and most important offerings, including Windows 10, Edge, HoloLens, Surface and more. The Windows and Devices Privacy team works with engineering teams to promote transparency and end user choice over the use of their personal information and defines division-wide processes for incorporating privacy into the product development cycle and engineering system.

Responsibilities

We are searching for a Senior Program Manager to help drive some of our major initiatives that strengthen our data management foundation and scale our privacy risk management processes. The right person has a passion for deeply understanding customer needs, protecting customer rights and enabling the business through scalable processes while working with teams across the company.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understand the competitive landscape and provide innovative ideas to help evolve our data management practices
  • Propose new features and functionality to improve data protection practices at scale.
  • Partnering with cross-company teams as a subject matter expert
  • Conduct technical deep-dive reviews to evaluate and mitigate privacy risk.
  • Evangelize privacy principles including better integration in the development cycle

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • 7+ years of data management and/or technical feature program management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong Program Management leadership skills – including project management discipline, stakeholder management, and communications.
  • IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional is preferred on-hire. Willingness to become certified within 6 months of hire is required.
  • 2+ years privacy review experience
  • Previous ownership and delivery of functional specifications/plans
  • Attention to detail and willingness to dive into technical details on features to deliver privacy requirements and innovations
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Outstanding cross-group collaboration skills and proven ability to drive initiatives across organizations
  • Knowledge and passion for end user privacy
  • Undergraduate degree

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Fingerprint Background Check: This position will be required to pass a customer required Fingerprint Background Check.
