Job Description

DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Principal Data Science in Riverwoods, IL to provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business problem into analytical frameworks, and independently recommend actions and provide business insights. Operates as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modeling and application, and financial impact analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables and presentations. Facilitate implementation of work product and ensure accuracy. Establish and maintain effective performance tracking; identify improvement opportunity, form hypotheses, propose, design and implement tests to drive strategy enhancement and optimization. Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics and machine learning algorithm and recommendation to solve business problems. Lead the development of analytical capabilities with the aim of creating long-term strategic data and analytics assets for the company. Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Consistently follow standard work processes and documentation requirements. Recommend improvement to work processes to increase efficiency while maintaining quality of work. Continuously improve technical and leadership skills through training and development. Act as the primary liaison between Fraud/ Acquisitions and enterprise project teams on projects such as Small Business, Flash and new initiatives. Coordinate with fraud, authorizations and operations strategy owners strategies to mitigate fraud risk for such initiatives. Represent authorization and fraud teams in the stakeholder meetings and update Sr. management on a regular basis. Effectively and consistently communicate project status and results to management. Be the point of contact for managing escalated complaints for the group with respect to conducting research and communication back to management. Stand up the Fraud Risk Committee and be the point of contact for all communication, as it relates to that. Focus on identifying and overseeing new initiatives. This work would include process review, gap analysis, issue identification and escalation, updates to management, and other tasks as they may pertain to project management. Manage end to end process for Issuing Business report and all other fraud reports to upper management. Own and execute on risk and controls for the Fraud team. Promote a risk‐aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related position: participating in statistical techniques including Machine Leaning and Data Mining; participating in consumer targeting, segmentation and behavior profiling, campaign performance evaluations, profitability tracking and pricing simulations; and utilizing technologies including SAS, SQL, Tableau and R.
