Principal Mobile Architect - Teams

Microsoft Teams is THE hub for teamwork in Microsoft 365 with hundreds of thousands of organizations and millions of users across the globe using Teams. We are aspired to create a world class mobile architecture for the Teams mobile clients for both iOS and Android. We are looking for an experienced mobile architect to define the mobile architecture vision and rally the team to deliver the same. This role has the opportunity to collaborate with the top minds in and out of Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Building prototypes to inform architecture decisions.
  • Making architecture decisions related to component modularization, layering, data layer strategy, UX layer strategy, design patterns, technology choices, and engineering system.
  • Collaborate with mobile experts in and outside of Microsoft to share and adopt the best architecture pattern.
  • Collaborate with web and service engineering teams to ensure the quality and consistency of the end to end mobile architecture.
  • Work with both internal and external partners to understand their needs.
  • Convince the leadership and engineering team to adopt the architecture proposal.
  • Create roadmaps and engineering execution plans to deliver the architecture improvement.
  • Document and educate the mobile engineering team about the architecture and design pattern and promote engineering best practices.
  • Review team’s engineering designs and checkins to ensure correct and consistent architecture and design pattern.
  • Hands-on coding to deliver some components.

Qualifications

  • Broad understanding about mobile technology for both Android and iOS.
  • 15 years of software development experience and 7 years of mobile development experience with track record of shipping successful products.
  • Strong architecture and communication skill.
  • Ability to influence leadership and large teams.
  • A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
