The Minecraft team is looking for an IT Lead to lead, evolve, and drive IT efforts in our Redmond studio. This role is a balance between leading a small team, evolving our IT processes, and implementing tools and procedures that enhance our studio's security, reliability, and agility. Technical expertise, attention to detail, and unwavering collaboration are important to our shared success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team responsible for desktop support, studio security, software administration, asset management, and process automation
  • Work with studio leadership to identify and prioritize projects and procedures in the areas above
  • Create detailed plans for how to implement those projects and procedures
  • Implement large parts of those plans, enlisting help where necessary while remaining responsible for the ultimate delivery
  • Support our production and engineering teams with tools, customizations, and documentation to make their lives easier
  • Implement and perform regular audits of our software and services
  • Streamline our employee onboarding/offboarding including hardware, software, and resource access
  • Evaluate, deploy, secure, and manage 3rd party software used across the studio
  • Partner with IT teams in Xbox Game Studios and Microsoft to provide the best possible IT service for our studio
  • Partner with our IT team in the Mojang Stockholm office on studio-wide IT projects
  • Bring a positive attitude and a passion for helping others

Qualifications

  • 2+ years project management experience
  • 2+ years experience with some form of scripting for automation, preferably Powershell and/or Python
  • 1+ years experience with Azure management (subscriptions, RBAC, cost optimization)
  • 1+ years experience with Azure technologies (VMs, storage, SQL, networking)
  • 1+ year experience with Azure Dev Ops (security, customizations)
  • 1+ year experience with Active Directory or Azure Active Directory
  • 1+ year experience with networking
