Meaningful Work From Day One
Responsible for safety, morale, quality, productivity, delivery and cost of assigned team within the Brown-Forman Distillery Operations Team. Leads team members to achieve performance targets through the effective communication of job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Schedules daily and weekly production activities and assigns duties and responsibilities for team members. Establishes and executes training plans to ensure the team's success. Drives continuous improvement program to deliver sustainable improvements. Responsible for controlling labor costs to productivity targets and budget. Responsible for understanding the current Collective Bargaining Agreement and managing to its guidelines.

Safety/Environmental

Maintain a safe work environment and promote accident prevention by eliminating potential hazards and leading root cause analysis for safety incidents, spills. Understand and adhere to federal, state and local regulations. Requires partnership with Plant Safety Coordinator, Safety Working Action Team, Corporate Safety leaders, employees, and Environmental departments.

Quality

Manage quality of finished goods to meet or exceed quality standards. Manage operational performance and area housekeeping to meet or exceed plant KPIs.

Productivity

Lead production operations to achieve targeted standards and facilitate recording downtime for all equipment in assigned area. Lead daily gemba meetings to drive ownership of losses with the team and facilitate action identification and resolution. Investigate equipment failures and provide trouble-shooting guidance to operators on production equipment. Support maintenance organization by utilizing work order processes, preventive maintenance program, and equipment downtime tracking. Develop, implement and evaluate job specific skills training for each individual employee within the work team. Requires cross functional partnership and collaboration with multiple departments i.e. Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Shipping, Finance etc.

Continuous Improvement

Lead team in continuous improvement and standardizing production processes including influencing culture change to integrate TPM principles to drive sustainable improvements to achieve business results. Explores innovation in terms of technology, people, processes and systems. Utilizes resources effectively – evaluating internal/external resources.

Cost Containment

Participate in budget development; maintains responsibility for labor/overhead budget; and develops scope, justification and implements cost savings projects. Requires partnership with Finance and General Manager. Leverage resources effectively to meet plant KPIs per budget standards (e.g. cost/case).

We Are Looking For People Who

Bachelors Degree AND 2-5 years people management experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing sustainable processes through motivating and facilitating cross-functional teams.
