As Microsoft’s cloud platform, Microsoft Azure is experiencing explosive growth, and the Microsoft Azure One Fleet Hardware team is delivering the platform and VM offerings that will drive that growth.


We are seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to design new VM offerings and drive the adoption of new hardware technologies into the Microsoft Azure platform. The ideal candidate will have a passion for new technology and virtualization technology. You will learn about the challenges that affect operations at a global scale and help design the next generation Microsoft Azure platforms. You will also learn what it takes to support new business models, applications, and operating models as we bring new customers and partners onto the Microsoft Azure system.


  • At least 10 years' experience with Java/C#/C/C++.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and building highly available distributed systems at scale.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with agile methodologies is a plus, a willingness to adopt them is required.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
