The GFS – Reporting & Insights team is looking for a Finance Manager to assist with financial modeling and forecasting. If you have a passion for business analytics and modeling, cross-group collaboration, and a focus on results, this is a role for you.


Responsibilities

  • Financial Modeling: Build robust, driver-based financial model to guide decision-making on allowance for doubtful accounts and bad debt expense
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to provide insights into accounts receivable and financing trends that will support GFS leadership’s decision making
  • Forecasting: Provide support in the delivery of a reliable forecast of cash flows, account receivable balance, bad debt reserves, and other key financial metrics to internal stakeholders. Accuracy and reliability of forecasting will be a key success metric
  • Partnership: Partner with internal GFS teams and other finance partners such as Corporate Accounting and Central Finance team, to identify financial reporting needs to enable timely & accurate business decision support. You will be required to simplify the complex, look at the bigger picture, assess risk and be able to effectively articulate the business implications based on the data

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field required
  • Minimum 1-3 years relevant experience in financial reporting and analysis from accounting/consulting firm or large multinational corporate preferred
  • Ability to "think outside the box" and not be hindered by how things have been done in the past
  • Bring an inclusive mindset to truly understand needs of your internal stakeholders and seek out different perspectives
  • Data driven and ability to simply the complex; art of story telling rather than just presenting data is crucial for success
  • Excellent cross-group collaboration skills, including the ability to comfortably communicate with senior management at Microsoft
  • Experience in developing different types of visual reporting, including visual analytics, visualizations for interactive data exploration
  • Excellent Excel, analytical and visual reporting skills are critical of success
  • Knowledge and experience with GAAP reporting and FP&A are a plus
  • Ability and curiosity to quickly learn Microsoft business and sales/credit operations is a plus
