The Installation & Telemetry team in the Azure Edge + Platform group is pivotal in delivering our new devices and keeping billions of in-market Windows devices up to date. Our mission is to ensure manufacturing, updating, and recovering Windows is fast, reliable and intuitive. Our work spans all Windows products, from the home to the office, from datacenters to space stations. We are passionate and focused on innovating in the installation and update space, not only to keep pace with our competitors, but also to set a new bar for our customers’ experiences.
We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to drive investments in our Server and Azure Stack upgrade portfolio. Our team’s mission is to give customers a seamless upgrade experience, tailored to the needs of their devices and environments. Servers and other edge infrastructure have substantially different needs than a typical PC, requiring a different approach to keep on-prem and cloud-hosted customers to up-to-date and secure.
In this role, you will need to create clarity around the business needs, and use them to energize the team on a vision. The work includes defining end-to-end scenarios, identifying crisp technical requirements, collaborating across disciplines and teams, to deliver impactful solutions. You will be working across groups, leading without authority to innovate in this critical space. This role will require a blend of thinking outside the box to innovate in key update scenarios, while re-using or evolving existing technology when appropriate – be prepared to balance pragmatism with aggressive goals!

- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years Program Management experience
- Comfort in deeply technical spaces, with the ability to communicate efficiently with both engineering and management
- Ability to innovate at a platform level and drive integrated, end-to-end solutions through the shipping process.
- Ability to collaborate with partners to determine the best way to deliver new releases across Windows devices.
- Great problem solving skills and outstanding drive for results; ability to derive clarity from ambiguity, communicate goals to key stakeholders, and motivate them to execute on time and at a high quality.
- Self-starter, who proactively identifies problems and drives for resolution.
