The Identity App Platform team empowers both developers and customers, playing a pivotal role in the creation of a vibrant application ecosystem around Microsoft’s cloud platform.

The Identity App Platform team is part of Microsoft’s Identity Division. Our team is at the heart of the cloud-computing revolution. We design, implement, and manage the core application models, permission-granting mechanisms, service-principal management, and consent framework components on which all cloud-enabled applications are built. The identity division, of which we are a part, is a customer-focused organization with an unrelenting emphasis on security, great user experiences, and trusted reliability.

Responsibilities

As an engineer in the Identity App Platform team you will design, implement, test, deploy, and manage core components of Microsoft’s world-class identity platform. Our services operate at very high scale and with very high reliability. They are used by over a billion customers of Windows, Office, XBOX and Azure, and they handle millions of requests per minute.

As a senior engineer in Identity Applications, you will provide hands-on technical leadership within our agile community of engineers and help raise the bar of what the group as a whole is able to achieve. You will partner with teams across the company who rely on our technologies to ship their products, and you’ll deliver new features that delight the ecosystem of developers, admins, and end users who rely on our platform.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

  • 5+ years software engineering experience
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Object-oriented design and programming skills

Preferred Qualification:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Experience building high-scale, public-facing cloud services
  • Thorough knowledge of REST API best practices and protocols
  • Familiarity with SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and LDAP

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
