Research Associate, Batch Production

About the role

We are seeking a full-time permanent Research Associate who will report to the Production Supervisor. Most of the work is in a laboratory setting requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a lab coat, eye protection and gloves. In accordance with Oregon laws, our site currently requires the use of a mask on site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the formulation and packaging of our products according to our detailed documentation. They will work collaboratively to produce replenishment batches of our large and growing catalog of products. Products include ELISA Kits, Monoclonal Antibodies, Cell and Tissue Lysates, Proteins, and other Reagents for life sciences research. The environment in batch production is fast-paced and full of opportunities to master a diverse set of biotech manufacturing skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform documented manufacturing processes according to SOPs
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records
  • Mix and aliquot bulk reagents
  • Maintain physical and digital raw material, intermediate, bulk, and finished good inventory
  • Maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Comply with global health and quality standards.
  • May be required to perform other duties as required/assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Position requires prolonged stints of standing/sitting
  • Display manual dexterity required to operate office and heavy lab equipment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in laboratory environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, bioengineering, or biology.
  • 1+ year working in manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Display manual dexterity required to operate office and heavy lab equipment
  • Excellent computer skills including instrumentation specific software, and proficiency in Microsoft office suite.

Work Environment:

  • Lab setting 80%
  • Office setting 20%
  • Lab contains hazardous chemicals and biohazards (BSL2 lab)
