Microsoft Tax & Trade Department is responsible for Worldwide Tax & Trade Reporting, Compliance, and Planning, including the technology and process functions to support the coordination of the worldwide tax and trade functions. There are five major functions within the Tax Department. 1) Tax Affairs; 2) International Tax; 3) Tax Reporting; 4) Tax Planning, Tax Controversies, & Indirect Tax; and 5) Tax Process, Technology & Trade.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare international tax calculations for quarterly ASC 740 reporting including FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, BEAT, and FTC.
  • Prepare in depth E&P and basis studies and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with non-U.S. income tax provision calculations and impacts.
  • Assist in all aspects of US international tax compliance.
  • Help develop, maintain and improve tax compliance and reporting processes.
  • Monitors and analyzes tax regulatory and compliance developments and tax law changes and documents its impact on the Company.
  • Work with internal and external financial statement auditors.
  • Assist the Controversies group both in domestic and international audits to resolve tax issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Accounting or MSA, MST, or MAC

  • 7+ years of experience of applicable experience
  • Deep hands-on expert experience with TCJA modeling, ASC740 modeling and tax accounting software
  • Actual hands-on experience with IRS US and US international corporate income tax
  • Strong database and desktop application ability (specifically SAP and MS Office)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate effectively with team members and business stakeholders
  • Exhibit strong analytical thinking, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent prioritization and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification is desired
  • Previous experience in a corporate tax department;
  • Previous experience in Big 4 corporate tax practices
