Join the Commerce and Ecosystem (C+E) team - the team that is building the next generation of platform and experiences enabling Microsoft and Azure, the fastest-growing cloud platform in the world which makes billions of dollars of revenue. We are looking for a talented Engineering Manager who will work alongside multiple teams within Azure and throughout Microsoft to build out a mega-scale Commerce platform, provide world-class analytics to customers about their Azure consumption and billing details, and set the stage for enterprises all around the world to effectively interact with Azure to enable friction-free cloud deployments from Azure Marketplace. You will be joining the project on the ground floor and you will be building a team, so your ideas and the team that you build will shape the future.
This role can provide an opportunity to use your existing skillset or your strong desire to learn new skillsets including building large scale Big Data services, highly scalable REST APIs, web services, and powerful web user experiences. Our tools empower Azure customers to create and manage their Azure subscriptions, view and manage their bills, understand and forecast their spending, and deploy Azure Marketplace solutions. Our systems enable enterprise scenarios for the discovery, purchase, distribution, and management of Azure products and services. A successful candidate must have the skills of a manger and the proven experience of an individual contributor. As a manager, the candidate should be able to attract new talent to the organization, have experience leading a team, and a record of delivering results. As a proven individual contributor, the candidate should be hands-on with code and data analysis with a strong sense of ownership.
You will be empowered to drive through ambiguity to lead a team of engineers to envision, design, build, validate, and deliver key features with massive customer impact. You will lead projects that require collaboration with a number of teams within C+E and across the company, giving you wide exposure and a broad technical surface area. - Technical leadership, experience in high performing, agile teams
- 7+ years of industry experience developing commercial software application or services
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Experience working with public government organizations and secure environments
- Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline
- Great communication skills to collaborate cross-group and work effectively within the team
- Expertise in any modern continuous delivery/deployment systems
- Working experience in online services/large scale systems is a plus
- Working experience in system architecture and design
- Coding and problem-solving skills
- Able to ramp up quickly on new technologies

Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
