The Supply Chain Engineering team builds engineering tools and systems for the Devices Supply Chain and partners with the Azure team to support the Cloud Supply Chain. The Devices Supply Chain supports getting products like Xbox, Surface, HoloLens into the hands of retail or enterprise customers. The Cloud Supply Chain supports getting server capacity in our Azure Datacenters. Supply Chain is key to winning in the Devices and Cloud business because it helps us with faster time to market, increasing profitability and improving our customer experience.

We build our engineering tools and platform for HW engineers, Planners, Sourcing Managers, Factory Operations, Logistics and Warehouse Operations, Customer Support, Datacenter Ops, Microsoft Retail Stores - all of these are involved in the whole lifecycle from designing a product to ensuring we can build them at scale and deliver them to our customers. We partner with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers and retailers in order to make and sell Microsoft products and services. Our technology stack is a mix of 3rd party (SAP, Ariba, Aras, CMAP) and homegrown services.

We are a data-driven team with a clear focus on our customers and their needs. We are hiring an experienced senior program manager for the Design, Sourcing and Make phases of the supply chain. You will collaborate closely across Supply Chain Engineering and our customers, partners and end users to design and deliver supply chain solutions in a way that they manage cost, quality and on-time delivery and enables Microsoft to sell devices and services.

Build an intelligent and responsive platform to streamline management, tracking and auditing of compliance risks related to manufacturing for the Microsoft Devices supply chain team

Be a key partner to our Devices and Cloud business, understand their requirements and deliver and beat their expectations

Identify opportunities to drive business impact and reduce cost, lead times and cycle times, drive quality and making our operations efficient

Driving innovations in Supply Chain by bridging connections across siloed systems by improving our product design and planning accuracy with data from manufacturing, sourcing, customer care and actual product sales

Driving automation and reducing manual touches

Mentor junior PMs and be a great role model of a customer-obsessed and data-driven PM

Anticipate, identify, assess, track and mitigate project risks and issues

Drive thought leadership and showcase Supply Chain solutions on the Microsoft stack

Travel – 0-25%


Knowledge, experience and skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience as a program manager (not project management), product manager
  • 5-10 years of experience driving and building product iteratively
  • Strong leadership skills to influence the agenda among partners and engineering counterparts
  • Ability to work with global teams and influence across matrixed organizations
  • Flexible communication skills that can provide clarity to audiences that include customers, peers and executive leadership
  • Demonstrated commitment to results and impact
  • Experience with a metrics-driven mindset, ability to experiment, learn and improve

Preferred, not required:

  • Experience in Supply Chain
  • Experience in manufacturing compliance risk management
