Cloud Data Center Cybersecurity (Cloud DC2) team is looking for a seasoned Principal Product Manager Lead to lead new high-profile Security Monitoring Service and high performing PM team. Cloud DC2 is a start-up team at Microsoft chartered to secure cloud datacenters with very lofty goals. We are looking for a strong Product Manager who can help us take an exciting new idea, refine it, and grow what we believe will be one of high impacting Security Service. It’s a bold challenge with huge upside and great visibility. You will be part of a world-class team in a fast-paced environment that has the entrepreneurial feel of a start-up. This service is one of the top priorities for this year.

This role requires management experience, strong customer empathy, and background in security and data science. We are looking for a professional with strong program, and project management experience. This person will have strong technical skills to understand IT architecture, unparalleled communication skills (can clearly describe his/her ideas and drill into tactics), and are able to interact with multiple cross-teams. This person will also be able to identify the needs of customers and translate those requirements into detailed technical and business requirements that can be executed across the organization. You’re able to learn quickly and apply skills to a broad range of projects as you dig in to complex problems and create solutions that scale to a large system and codebase.   • Define the vision and strategy for cybersecurity monitoring are
  • Prioritization of customer scenarios, with clear metrics for success while owning planning and delivery
  • Grow a team that obsesses on the customer, is data driven, prioritizes on the risks, owns the end to end experience, and delivers with agility and quality
  • Manage engineering relationship to establish a shared strategic framework, technical vision, plans, and roadmap
  • Empathize strongly with customers, gather requirements, and translate them into viable technical roadmaps, programs, and plans
  • Engage with leaders across organization to ensure executive sponsorship and manage escalations – High Impact and Company Wide visibility


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in program management, product management or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of management experience leading a team of individual contributors or managers
  • A BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience shipping secure, high quality software through all phases of the platform/service cycle in a high-volume or critical production service environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation - to peers and executives)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in data science and Machine Learning
  • Experience in IoT domain is highly valuable
  • Master’s degree, MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience as a key contributor to designing, shipping, and operating large-scale, public cloud services.
  • Critical writing and thinking skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation - to peers and executives)
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to work independently and effectively in a results-oriented, efficient environment
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.
  • Prior experience with security, data-science and machine learning
  • Technical understanding of cloud technologies and/or distributed systems
