The focus of the Architect Manager is responsible for leading a team of Modern Work (MW) Solution Architects in the Microsoft US Federal Consulting Services Modern Work Center of Excellence, ensuring the delivery of high quality architectural solutions and business outcomes based on the Microsoft Platform.

The Architect Manager is part of the leadership team for the US Federal Consulting Services Modern Work Center of Excellence, and through close collaboration with other key roles, ensures that high quality transformation plans and solutions are delivered in an efficient and profitable manner across the life-cycle.


Key accountabilities include:

  • Driving & accelerating production-level cloud consumption in line with customer and Microsoft’s strategy.
  • Working with your team to Make the Market with innovative Digital Transformation and Modernization projects.
  • Driving a positive Customer Experience by providing high quality delivery through your team of Architects.
  • Ensuring you and your team deliver Business and Operational Excellence.
  • Attracting, retaining, and developing Architects.

Uniquely, the Architect Manager is involved in working with their team to drive Demand Generation activities.


  • A proven ability to play a key role in partnering with other roles across the organization to deliver business results
  • Consultancy background, with 10-15+ years of technology-related experience required
  • Proven success and expertise in managing teams/designing and delivering cloud architectural solutions in a client-facing role required
  • Track record of solution selling and driving presales into implementation project that are delivered into live operations
  • Broad Industry knowledge, ideally with experience across multiple sectors and industries
  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to Information Technology/Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent) CITA-P or equivalent

The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.

The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.

Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
