Microsoft Federal serves the U.S. Government (USG), allowing Microsoft to support the growing government business. The organization supports the capabilities and requirements to service USG through direct sales, contracting, and billing with the USG. Microsoft Federal entity will meet obligations of manage contracts with the USG through six business teams and three enablement teams.

The Federal Capacity Planner is a critical member of the Federal Capacity Planning and Management team and is focused on landing a robust delivery plan, in keeping with the fiscal plan & quarterly capacity forecasting for the Services business.
Deliver robust annual/ quarterly delivery planning (demand and capacity plans) for Microsoft Federal Services roles including Customer Engineer, CSAM, Architect, Consultant and Project Manager. Delivery Planning includes Demand and Capacity planning covering levers/efficiencies like delivery mix, resource mix, role mix, utilization, billable/non- billable roles etc.,
Collaborate with Finance teams to ensure productivity levers reflect in the cost and work hand in glove to deliver the plan as well as forecast. Also, deliver insights on business performance and outlook through the year
Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders such as Federal Leaders, Federal Finance, Central Planning team, Integrated Planning team, Sales Finance team and act as a trusted advisor to Federal Leadership during the Annual Budget & Quarterly CFO planning cycles.
Provide forward looking business visibility based on advanced statistical analytics, predictive models and deep insights (Scenario modelling, Trend Analysis, Correlations/ Knowledge Discovery, Machine Learning, Statistical Forecasting, Early Warning System etc.).
Ability to handle large, complex and disparate data sets; build models ground up, interpret the story behind the numbers and syndicate the output with broader set of stakeholders.
Identify trends and inconsistencies in data to provide inputs to improve the models and outcomes. Present data-driven analyses to solve complex business problems.
Provide analytics and insights to the business leaders to have consequential business review rhythms (QBR/ MBR) by closely monitoring the Key Performance Indicators, Critical Success Factors, Scorecard Metric, Cost and Productivity levers, Sales Motion, Leading/ Lagging Indicators, Red Pockets, Root Cause Analyses, Recovery Plans, Investments/ ROIs. Enable the business leaders on Governance, Control and Compliance aspects.

Ideal candidates should have 7+ years of experience in areas related to Services Planning, modeling and services delivery etc., and should be self-motivated, confident in working with Senior Leaders and comfortable working in a matrix organization. The candidate need to be able to achieve results through influence across multiple organizations.
Bachelors in business, information technology, Finance , Operations or related field, and/or equivalent experience
Proven stakeholder management skills, especially in a cross-organizational matrixed teams
A strong business aptitude coupled with an affinity or appreciation for technology and the advancement of technology in thriving organizations
Ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate multiple work streams of activities
Knowledge and understanding of the financial and operational functions of a delivery organization (i.e., budget, time logging, optimizing cost, escalation processes, invoicing, capacity management)
Ability to develop strong, productive relationships with colleagues and management to meet targeted objectives
An analytical mindset with the ability to define metrics, reports, interpret results, and make recommendations on appropriate courses of action

The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
