Call for Postdocs in ML and Statistics at Microsoft Research NE
The machine learning and statistics group at Microsoft Research NE is actively seeking a qualified postdoctoral researcher to join us in advancing the state-of-the-art in ML and statistics. If your research background is in Machine Learning, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, we would like to hear from you!

Microsoft Research New England is comprised of fifty full-time researchers, postdocs, data scientists, engineers, and program managers working in machine learning, statistics, healthcare, computational biology, theoretical computer science, algorithmic game theory, economics, social media, cryptography, and mathematics. The lab is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary and is actively engaged with the local academic and tech communities.

As a postdoc, you define your research agenda in collaboration with other researchers, driving forward an effective program of basic, fundamental, and applied research. This position is not to exceed two years
- PhD (completed or close to completion) in computer science, statistics, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field
- Research ability demonstrated by journal or conference publications or preprints
- Research agenda that overlaps with ML and statistics group
- Participation and activity in the scientific community
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to work in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment

A complete application packet should include:
- CV, which lists all peer-reviewed publications and preprints.
- At least 3 reference letters (typically, one will be from your dissertation advisor)
- Research statement that outlines your research achievements and agenda.
- Upload (as separate attachments to your application) 2 conference or journal articles, book chapters, or equivalent writing samples that you are most proud of and which best demonstrate your expertise
