The Azure Data team focused on open source relational databases is looking for an exceptional Program Manager to develop and deliver on the product strategy with focus on key enterprise features. Azure database services for MySQL, PostgreSQL and MariaDB are fully managed database services that provides developers the choice to use their favorite open source database engine on Azure. These database services provide built-in high availability, industry leading security features and compliance, and ability to elastically scale compute and storage independently within seconds.

As a successful Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with engineering teams and influence the product roadmap, develop product specifications and prioritization, enable external ISVs and partners who build solutions on top of our OSS relational database offerings, and work directly with customers to deliver the value. This program manager will bring the right mix of technical depth, engineering background, on-line services experience and cross-org collaboration skills to help evolve our product strategy, and accelerate enterprise customers’ journey to Azure OSS relational database services.   • Minimum 2 years of relational database experience in consulting, engineering or supportability
  • 4 years experince with program managamnet
  • Customer empathy and experience in shipping customer facing solutions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leading without authority skills
  • Excellent ability to design, prioritize, plan, and track large scale programs
  • Customer empathy and experience in shipping customer facing solutions
  • Background or knowledge in distributed systems, database systems or storage

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid problem-solving skills dealing with ambiguity
  • Track record and strong results delivering product features with customer value
  • Technical depth and broad, high-level understanding of system design
  • Past experience in building global distributed cloud is a plus
  • Past experience working with open source relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or MariaDB is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field
