The auto industry is undergoing a massive change, driven by electrification, ride sharing and other services, and autonomy/AI. Microsoft is in a unique position with cloud vendors to be the preferred platform for hosting cloud services supporting automotive services. We are currently working with industry partners to provide cloud services, connecting and supporting vehicles that are looking much more like mobile edge data centers. In this position, you will design, implement, and operate the Azure Connected Vehicle Service that car manufacturers use as a foundation for their solution.

Day-to-day, you will work with your peers in all stages of our engineering lifecycle: design, implementation, and operating at scale. We work in short 2w sprints, connected with actual customers who aren’t shy about providing feedback. You will take their requirements and feedback, and turn that into platform services that will drive our customers’ solutions. In turn, these solutions will revolutionize the industry.

As a developer in the Connected Vehicle Platform team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and operating cloud-based products that form that foundation for the automotive industry’s Telematics Solutions. You will be creating a Service Platform that can be used by large automotive partners as well as the smaller and upstart players.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on coding experience shipping products across multiple product cycles
  • BS or MS in computer science, related degree, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in C++/C#/Java

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid implementation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team in an agile environment
  • Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, maintaining online services
  • Good cross group communication and collaboration
  • Drive to learn new hardware and software stacks
  • Ability to be customer focused
  • Strong technical understanding of operating system concepts and implementations
  • Knowledge of Windows Azure, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms
