The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller - NAM, the Senior Accountant has responsibility for the completion and accurate delivery of the monthly, half yearly and full year financial results for the North America region in addition to ensuring the Group’s compliance and taxation requirements are met, and that systems and controls are continually developed to ensure timely, efficient and accurate reporting (internal and external).

What you'll be doing

  • Preparation of monthly management reports, including trend analysis and understanding of key business drivers for the NAM subsidiaries
  • Analysis of actual performance against forecast, plan and prior months including well researched commentary on variances
  • Oversee the completion of the monthly billing for NAM including month revenue recognition accruals
  • Provide support to the Financial Controller as required
  • Develop and maintain cashflow forecasting
  • Compile and comment on the Month on Month revenue analysis by customer for NAM
  • Reconcile the portal vs MS D365 ledger posting to ensure all customers are being billed correctly on a monthly basis.
  • Review aged receivables ledger, overseeing the follow up of outstanding and aged debtors with internal and external parties
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets register for the NAM region in line with appropriate accounting standards.
  • Review and troubleshoot issues pertaining to Sales and Partner commissions in conjunction with the Group Financial Controller.
  • Co-ordinate the accurate and timely completion of the budgeting process for the NAM region in conjunction with the Group Financial Controller
  • Ensure accruals and prepayments are captured correctly on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee the accurate completion of the COGS accruals, reviews and commentary
  • Responsible for all compliance maintenance and reporting
  • Preparation and completion of all statutory obligations for the Group such as BAS, VAT, Sales Tax and Income Tax for NAM
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations evidencing sound financial control of relevant entities
  • Continuous improvement, development and implementation of Group policies, processes and procedures
  • Oversee the accurate completion of bank reconciliations for month-end within the applicable timeframes for all NAM bank accounts.
  • Enter and maintain balanced intercompany accounts, including sound understanding of applicable foreign currencies used and the impact of these within the Group.
  • Banking administration as required.
  • Mentor, train, develop the Accounts Assistant as required and act as backup when required.
  • Address audit related queries as required.
  • Any other tasks as directed by the Group Financial Controller or the CFO
  • What we are looking for

  • Previous proven experience as a Financial Accountant (5yrs +)
  • CPA/CA qualified
  • Extensive experience with mid to high end ERP finance system
  • Ability to research and liaise with external advisors on country specific GST/VAT/sales taxes to ensure compliance is maintained at all times
  • Strong ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Previous experience within an accounting practice, mid-tier to Big Four, would be advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
