Microsoft Healthcare – Principal Program Manager

Are you interested in driving innovation in healthcare data and AI? Microsoft Healthcare is part of our Artificial Intelligence and Research team focused on developing incubation technology for Azure customers working with health data. This is a leadership role focused on IoMT (Internet of Medical Things) product start-up which requires both development of strategic vision and the ability to dive into details to manage product development and customer solutions.

An ideal candidate for this role will have strong experience in architecting and implementing incubation and development of new technology that supports management of digital health data in the cloud. The right candidate for this position will be comfortable in a start-up environment, ready to take on multiple responsibilities, and adept at organizing and leading others around an ambitious goal. Deep understanding of cloud technology, outstanding communication skills, and bias for action are critical for success in this role.

In this role you will be responsible for defining, architecting and delivering innovative health cloud and data platform focused on device data ingestion, normalization and consumption, all at scale with security and compliance. As a program leader for this team, your role requires both effective experience and collaborative leadership across multiple disciplines, including research, program management, design, data science, and software engineering. You should have demonstrated experience product delivery and success leading deep technical architecture, application design discussions, hands-on implementation and cloud deployment.



Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to define and develop functional requirements and influence implementation of a consistent, scalable architecture across multiple technical inputs and endpoints.
  • Lead initiatives and collaborate across the organizations including development, marketing, vendors, partners and Azure services teams.
  • Apply deep technical knowledge and customer insights to create a health cloud and data conceptual design and architect solutions to meet business and IT needs.
  • Ability to write and review code with security and coding best practices
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations and balance trade offs between business needs and technical constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including development of consumer and external partner planning and communication.
  • Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community


Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in program management, engineering delivery or similar technical leadership role
  • BS degree in related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in delivering and managing services on a cloud platform
  • Solid technical foundation and ability to write and review code with coding best practices
  • Experience in managing the lifecycle of a cross-functional program
  • Comfort and experience with cross-organizational communication, excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience in working with high frequency data and IoT solutions
  • Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and distill them down to functional specifications for iterative development
  • Health domain experience will be a plus
