Why does this job exist?

This position will be responsible for automating accounting processes as part of Brown-Forman’s digital transformation initiative, as well as managing established Alteryx processes. In addition, this position will develop and perform Accounting analytics using modern technology applications (such as Tableau) to ensure accuracy and explain results. This position will train the Controllers how to use such analytics as well, and aggregate their analyses to explain consolidated results. This position will also perform advanced accounting functions and lead special projects as needed.

What You Can Expect ​:

Digital Transformation

  • Research and develop a range of proposed solutions to address inefficient accounting processes identified as part of digital transformation initiatives. This will include conducting preliminary feasibility assessment of alternatives, often including a combination of modern technology applications.

  • Develop process maps to identify weaknesses and illustrate how efficiencies will be gained. Document business requirements for project initiatives. Present alternatives to management for approval. Develop implementation plans and timelines. Establish and track process improvement objectives and related metrics.

  • Collaborate with Finance and IT resources deployed to accelerate B-F’s digital transformation.

Corporate Accounting, Analytics, & Reporting

  • Develop, perform, and manage accounting analytics:

  • Develop P&L analytics to detect misstatements in Discounts, Cost of Sales, and Advertising using modern tools (such as Tableau).

  • Train Controllers on analytics developed and aggregate their analyses to answer questions and explain consolidated results,

  • Enhance and manage Revenue Recognition analytics performed by the Controllers.

  • Assist with the Balance Sheet review as needed.

Use Alteryx to perform and manage the following workflows:

  • Calculate the correct intercompany profit (ICP) on Poland Cost of Sales, and post the required adjustment.

  • Create inventory reports used for ICP eliminations, as well as Production Finance analysis/reporting.

  • Create a summary of ICP transferred between legal entities also used for ICP eliminations.

  • Aggregate and prepare journal entries to reclass excise and tariff price differences from Material Ledger Settlement account to their respective FSLI.

Other corporate accounting functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Load trial balance to Workiva and develop monthly Flash reports.

  • Compile Government reports.

  • Research and resolve variances between SAP’s financial reporting (FI) and profitability analysis (PA) applications.

  • Track adjustments from preliminary to final close by FSLI and region to help Financial, Reporting, & Analysis monitor results prior to final close.

  • Reconcile discounting and advertising accrual accounts.

  • Manage cost of sales revaluation analysis and accounting

  • Lead or participate in Special Projects as needed, which would require advanced accounting and/or technical skills.

We Are Looking For People Who:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Computer Science or a related field

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Accounting, IT or a related field.
