Overview:
The Network Security Architect is an integral part of the Global Cyber Security Team and will be responsible for designing, building, testing and implementing network security tools/systems. A Network Security Architect is expected to have a thorough understanding of complex systems and stay up to date with the latest security standards, systems and authentication protocols, as well as security best practices. In addition, this role will help improve the risk posture of the organization by implementing controls to prevent or mitigate security risks and exposures. Additional responsibilities may be asked as deemed necessary.

Operations that candidate would be primarily working on:

  • Firewall Review

  • Segmentation Review

  • Cloud Security ACL Review (AWS, Azure)

  • Firewall Configuration Review

  • Network based NIDS/NIPS Rules Management (Lifecyle: Creation, Update, Tuning, Removal)

  • Host based HIDS/HIPS Rules Management (Lifecyle: Creation, Update, Tuning, Removal)

  • Web Application Firewall (WAF) Rules Management (Lifecyle: Creation, Update, Tuning, Removal)

Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge and Prior Operational experience with Juniper SRX, Cisco, AWS, Azure and SDWAN preferred

  • Understanding of PCI Network Segmentation requirements

  • Experience working in Cloud Environments where applicant has implemented various Network Access Control options available in Azure and AWS

  • Experience with Wireshark, NMAP

  • Prior experience with documenting security findings including writing out how compensating controls can be implemented to mitigate risk

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Assurance, or a related degree or equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a Network Architect/Engineering related role.

  • A minimum of five (5) year of experience in a security organization.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.

  • Industry Certifications preferred: GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, OSCP, etc.

An in-depth understanding of:

  • Scripting Languages (PowerShell, Ruby, Bash, Python)

  • Cloud Orchestration Tools (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible)

  • Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, Linux

  • TCP/IP network stack

  • Security tools (IPS, HIPS, Proxies, Packet Captures, Syslog, DHCP, AD, 802.1x, NAT).

  • Well-known networking protocols (HTTP, SSH, FTP, DNS, etc).

  • Knowledge of information security industry and regulatory obligations (PCI DSS, SOX404, SOC1/2, ISO 27000-series, NIST Framework, etc.).
