Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft’s core cloud platforms and services that millions of people use every day. The Datacenter Integration Services (DCIS) team’s mission within CO+I is to ensure that the infrastructure that powers Microsoft’s core cloud platforms and services is designed to be compliant with Microsoft Cloud’s datacenter and infrastructure standards and specifications for safety, serviceability and cloud scale operations.

We are looking for a Sr. Program Manager who will drive the serviceability and operational readiness of the Server, Storage and Networking hardware infrastructure deployed to data centers globally. The Sr. Program Manager will partner with internal Hardware Engineering, Data Center Operations teams and OEM/ODM partners to drive serviceability and operational readiness of cloud hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple NPI Cloud hardware programs to ensure that Server, Storage and Networking hardware issues can be diagnosed and serviced safely and efficiently in the data centers, minimizing time to service and time to repair metrics.
  • Perform hardware serviceability and diagnosability reviews and drive operational readiness to launch new Hardware products to Microsoft Cloud data centers globally
  • Review engineering drawings, design specifications and technical documentation to assess compliance with Data Center (DC) Design for Safety, Serviceability, Integration or other DFx requirements
    Update DFx requirements and specifications based on Cloud DC or IT Hardware innovations
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering, manufacturing, data center operations teams and external partners such as ODM’s and HW vendors to achieve program goals on serviceability and operational readiness
  • Drive complex cross-functional projects and processes to rigorous time-bound delivery at high levels of quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and develop repeatable processes that scale.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 5 years experience in IT Hardware (Servers, Storage, Networking) design and manufacturing
  • 5 years experience driving complex cross-functional projects and processes to rigorous time-bound delivery at high levels of quality focusing on repeatable processes that scale.

Preferred

  • Experience in Product development in cloud or server development is a plus.
  • Experience with high complexity hardware program development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a growth mindset, humility, dependability, and attention to detail
  • Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
