The Experiences and Services (XS) team is part of Microsoft’s (E+D) Experiences and Devices division. We are focused on the delivery of innovative service driven user experiences (UX) across devices and platform. Our portfolio includes some of Microsoft’s largest scale and business critical cloud services. These services have a huge global footprint of over 240 markets and process millions of transactions daily, with loads growing linearly as Microsoft moves to a ‘intelligent cloud, intelligent edge’ strategy.

Responsibilities

As a software engineer on the team you will be responsible for the architecture, design, and implementation of such next-gen experiences. In this role, you will collaborate with people across the company to understand dependencies, drive the overall feature architecture and work with your PM + Design counterparts to partner for success, including putting the customer first.To build quality into the feature – you will figure out how to make your feature testable and measurable. You will work with data and intelligence to design a strategy for telemetry, drive analysis, run experiments and continually assess your feature against your business goals.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in CS, related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 3 or more years of software development experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Passion for developing delightful customer experiences
  • Proven experience and excellent command over programming concepts, especially in C++
  • Strong design and debugging skills
  • Understanding of web architecture and technologies is a plus (ex: React frameworks)
  • Prior experience with authoring Windows APIs, and performance optimization is a plus
  • Prior experience with ML models is also a plus
