Responsibilities

You'll be leading a team writing code that powers our web portal <<https://account.microsoft.com>> which is visited by millions of customers globally a day. You’ll be a technical leader focused on growing a highly talented, collaborative and motivated team, while setting the technical direction to deliver high-scale, highly-available UX surfaces with an emphasis on delivering experiences for our customers' devices they use every day, and growing the breadth and impact of the Microsoft consumer privacy experiences.

You'll be leading a team that operates in combined engineering, and embraces continuous development and service excellence. Specifically, you and your team will have responsibilities to maintain and improve our services in production by proactively monitoring, reacting to customer issues, performing investigations, implementing mitigations and deployments to guarantee that we operate a healthy system. You will also be responsible for evaluating system topology and capacity to ensure that services are able to handle user demand.

We are looking for a leader with a passion for mentorship and team building, customer focus and engineering fundamentals, coupled with technical leadership experience in driving a high-scale, broad scope customer experiences on the web. If you love using a data-driven approach to experiment and deliver the most effective user experiences, this role may be for you.

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications:

A strong passion to create great user experiences, with a proven ability to use data-driven approaches and experimentation to increase quality and customer satisfaction

A proven ability to develop and lead collaborative teams of exceptional engineers.

Expert understanding of web services and site technologies (for example, REST APIs , HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON etc.)

Experience with newer web user experience technologies such as ReactJS a plus

Experience with scrum, Kanban, or other agile engineering techniques

Experience Required

BA/BS degree in CS, related discipline or equivalent work experience

10 or more years of engineering leadership experience

7 or more years of Web UX design and coding experience in high scale services or components used in them

15 or more years of general design and coding experience (C++, C#, and/or Java)
