Job Description

TITLE: Manager Data Science

DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Manager Data Science in Riverwoods, IL to provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business problems into analytical frameworks, and independently recommend actions and provide business insights. Lead the development and implementation of advance analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics and machine learning algorithm and recommendation to solve business problems. Manage priorities and sets of analysts, assign projects and allocate resources, communicate business performance and project progress to management and business partners. Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modeling and application, and financial impact analysis. Establish and maintain effective performance tracking; identify improvement opportunity, form hypotheses, propose, design and implement tests to drive strategy enhancement and optimization. Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Implement work product and ensure accuracy. Ensure standard work processes and documentation requirements are timely and consistently followed by team. Encourage continuous improvement of team processes and share across functional teams to ensure consistency. Promote a risk-aware culture and ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Engineering, Analytics, Applied Economics, or related quantitative field and six (6) years of experience in job offered or related occupation: working with consumer finance products and managing credit risk strategies; performing applied statistical analysis including designing, developing and implementing model usage, including regression; and utilizing SAS, Teradata and SQL. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in one of the above fields and one (1) year of experience in the above-listed skills.
