As we continue to mature, we are constantly evaluating engineering automation, analytics, and the use of cognitive services to transform our ability to scale our services. We are looking for a passionate, talented, and inspired Privacy professional to improve upon the foundation we’ve established.

This role is in the engineering profession within the program management discipline. In this role, you will stay up to date with the ever-evolving privacy regulatory and business landscape and define frameworks for engineering to deliver products to meet privacy requirements. You will own and drive Privacy compliance across all Modern Commerce & Ecosystems launches ensuring that Privacy compliance, management excellence and regulatory standards are met prior to any launch.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should have experience contributing to design and implementation of various Privacy and Data Management controls across complex platforms involving various engineering teams. You should have experience with Privacy standards and able to provide guidance to engineering on how to design and implement effective Privacy controls. This role requires great collaboration skills and the ability to go deep, drive clarity across teams and demonstrate the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and comfort with ambiguity. In addition, this position requires:

Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategic horizontal Privacy initiatives that advance the ability of the Commerce & Ecosystems organization to manage data privacy requirements.
  • Understand the business priorities and strategies when it comes to the collection and use of data to enable Privacy compliance.
  • Identify, leverage, and evangelize opportunities to improve data management.
  • Convey complex legal concepts and requirements to engineering in ways that resonate with them.
  • Lead Privacy compliance conversations with teams to shape, prioritize and validate product features.
  • Work closely with Microsoft legal teams and partners to serve as the voice of the customer to the business on matters related to Privacy.
  • Manage key results and OKRs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Project Management, Program Management, Feature PM or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in one or more of the following areas or combination thereof: Compliance, Privacy, Risk Management, Incident Management, Security or Legal Support
  • Ability to show progress in the face of high levels of ambiguity.
  • Strong track record of managing technical projects across multiple engineering teams, working with various stakeholders, to deliver consistent high-quality results.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data privacy and data subject rights.
  • Comfortable with the multiple privacy regulations including but not limited to GDPR and CCPA.
  • Outstanding spoken and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with programs that include legal and engineering requirements.
  • BA/BS or Equivalent
  • IAPP certification is a plus.
  • Able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of the privacy and governance marketplace.
  • Experience working with privacy frameworks such as ISO 27701
  • High enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced competitive environment.
  • Get excited by the many challenges of Compliance and the engagement of engineers.
  • Understands business objectives and plans accordingly. Critically reviews multiple plans and adjusts as needed. Proactively communicates and addresses necessary priority or capacity trade-offs.
