As we continue to improve developer productivity features in Visual Studio with cloud service direction, we are looking for an engineering manager to manage a team that drives Identity, licensing, sign-in experience for Visual Studio along with modernizing extensibility framework for hosting UI written using web technologies inside Visual Studio.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an engineering manager to help us deliver tools & services to power Identity experience in Visual Studio. Our work includes enabling deeper integration with GitHub and other identity providers to enable scenarios hitherto not possible in any developer tool. We are looking at improving experience for enterprises as they adopt new identity features and enhancing the extensibility framework for client side UI for GitHub Codespaces.

You will work with program managers to understand customer needs and develop experiences that make them more efficient. You will work with multiple partner teams, build simple and powerful experiences, ship them to customers frequently and learn from customer feedback.

You will build high quality developer tools, scalable cloud services, and systems that monitor the health of the services. The software you build will help millions of developers all over the world.

Qualifications

Required Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of experience developing commercial software

Preferred Qualifications:

- 2+ years of people management experience

- Experience with C#, C++, Azure, JavaScript and TypeScript

- Demonstrated solution delivery through a full product cycle in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent experience

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
