Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.
You are a writer, editor, librarian, scrum master, and operations specialist for a team that lives and breathes enterprise sales. You’ll work with our engineers to develop, edit, and manage content for our audience of pre-sales engineers and consultants. Are you up for the following challenge?
Take raw technical content and transform it into something beautiful and meaningful. Content includes: technical and solution practices; demo and sales guidance; and learning and training materials.
A special emphasis on crafting learning experiences in different formats, including self-paced training, digital training, ILT, workshops, and webinars. Build meaningful course interactions to increase learning and retention, provide opportunities to apply new skills (including but not limited to knowledge checks, exercises, scripts, storyboards, simulations, or games).
Outputs include: SCORM packages, Confluence pages, slides, videos and web pages. This is 30% of the job.
Learn and love the Atlassian voice! Intake material from a variety of sources and provide a unifying theme, voice and look. A/B test content for usability and effectiveness. Collect and utilize the latest thinking in instructional design. This is 15% of the job.
Be a human card catalog of content. Organize our Confluence sites and other bookshelves using user-centric design. Be responsible for the lifecycle of the content and ensure proper refresh cycles. This is 5% of the job.
The Scrum Master
Be our team's scrum master focused on technical and content projects. Ensure all the ceremonies occur such as: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. This is 25% of the job.
The Operation Specialist
Channel your inner Leslie Knope and be ruthlessly organized. Coordinate with other teams to help publish our content, coordinating VILT logistics and marketing, triage incoming requests (via Jira Service Management), update performance reports, and other administrative tasks. This is 25% of the job.
More about you
This job is for someone who thinks bigger than traditional process and technical documentation. You can explain sophisticated features and capabilities in ways that are useful for specialist audiences, but which are also helpful and approachable for more novice readers getting into the domain.
When you join the team, you'd be expected to have:
- Mastery of process and technical writing
- An eye for visual design
- Experience in improving or building both information architectures and content strategies for documentation
- Experience with usability testing, card sorting, and other techniques to ensure that your work is not just accurate, but that it's also effective for your target audience
- Scrum Master certification
And ideally, we'd hope you'd have:
- 4+ years of proven experience
- Outstanding communication skills, good self-awareness, and not afraid to admit when you are wrong or have made a mistake
- Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition or Telestream Screenflow
- Experience with instructional design tools for eLearning such as Articulate Rise 360 or Adobe Captivate
- Knowledge of E-learning theory
- Proficiency in Confluence and knowledge of the rest of our products
- Familiarity with accessibility standards
- Experience with crafting and tracking OKRs
