The Azure Sphere Operating System team is building the IoT Operating System of the Future (and now!), based on the Seven Properties of Highly Secured Devices. This team is focused on the operating system that runs on Azure Sphere devices and intersects with several technical and engineering aspects of operating systems. We are looking to hire a PM to drive various aspects of the Azure Sphere Operating System related to quality, such as reliability, stability, efficiency, support, etc… The PM for this role will define objectives and key results (OKRs), drive measurement and delivery of these OKRs across the organization, create and lead quality initiatives, and find ways for us to become an industry leader in this space. It is a role that requires comfort with data (or the lack of data), excellence in strategic/technical thinking, cross-team interactions across engineering, key stakeholders, product planning, and customers. Key characteristics of a PM for this role include being a strong collaborator who can build relationships through trust, be fearless in advocating for the right things, and engage intentionally with kindness and inclusivity. This role is responsible for, but not limited, to the following (a) helping define OKRs related to quality of the Azure Sphere OS, (b) measuring and assessing key results for the quality of the OS, (c) driving quality programs across the team to help improve the quality of the OS, (d) communicate to various stakeholders aspects related to the quality OS, (e ) work across teams and collaborate to ensure various tasks and initiatives are in place and executed.



  • Bachelors' Degree or Higher preferably with a technical concentration or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years or more experience in program or project management, quality role, or as a dev lead.
  • Prior experience driving a SW quality project (improving/tracking stability, reliability, performance, efficiency, etc…).


  • Experience with embedded development.
  • Experience with IoT
  • Background with the Linux kernel
  • Experience with operating system development

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
