The Field and Operations Deal Management (FODM) team mission is to transform the field sales business to maximize revenue and simplify working with Microsoft through trusted partnerships.

This role, the Operations Deal Manager (ODM) will act as a trusted advisor, enabling deal management to maximize revenue realization. You will do this by managing a critical deal pipeline, providing insights on complexity, volume, and arrival with a focus on de-risking deals to enable on time and accurate processing. The team partners with field sales, commercial solutions team, global regional operating centers, our partner facing community as well as transact services.

Sitting within the Field and Operations Deal Management Team (FODM), Operations Deal Managers (ODM) are responsible for enabling on time and accurate processing of deals through pipeline management and de-risking, leading to successful deal processing and support.

  • Generate and manage critical deal lists on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Align expectations with field sales managers and key subsidiary stakeholders on all critical deals for the month.
  • Provide accurate deal and order volumes to help support forecast planning.
  • Collaborate and be the trusted advisor with key field business stakeholders to ensure accurate deal status and arrival dates.
  • De-risk complex and transformational deals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply a continuous improvement mindset to everything we do, using data and business insights to improve field sales experiences, and give selling time back to the field.


Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree in Operations, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience
  • 3+years’ experience in Operations, Program Management, or Project Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate complex subjects to a global audience.
  • Ability to simplify complex situations and apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep field and partner knowledge, understanding of the Microsoft sales process, or similar industry experience.
  • Have Microsoft licensing program knowledge and/or experience working with field and partners in some capacity.
  • Ability to multi-task and project manage many tasks simultaneously, working under continual deadline constraints.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems by applying knowledge and judgment to identify approach and methods.
  • Demonstrated impact and influence skills, including cross-boundary collaboration and the ability to build solid relationships with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to manage sensitive, business impacting information, and closely control dissemination.
  • Confidence in self and organization, and a ‘can-do’ attitude in the face of change and ambiguity.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work effectively with numerous virtual teams of diverse backgrounds.
