Are you excited about the possibility of working on one of the largest Storage services in the world? The Azure Storage team is chartered with building, managing and running the Persistent Cloud Storage for Microsoft Azure Cloud. We are one of the foundational services in the Azure Cloud. The service hosts data from some of the largest companies in the world and has scaled to store exabytes of customer data with the roadmap looking even better in terms of growth.
We are working on many challenging problems to improve the service we have while enabling an array of new scenarios for our customers to create even more powerful applications on top of our service. As part of offering a rich set of experiences to our customers and meeting our customers where they are rather than making them come to us, we have partnered with NetApp to provide the Azure NetApp Files service, which offers NetApp Storage and Data Management services in Azure Cloud. NetApp Storage offerings are very dominant on-prem and extremely well respected and widely deployed by enterprise customers. The Azure NetApp Files service has generated tremendous excitement with our customers, has an incredible growth rate, and has many years of innovation and challenges to come. While Persistent Cloud Storage is growing rapidly, the majority of data in the world is still on-prem and this is one of the most influential services one can work on to bring that data to the Azure Cloud and the Azure Cloud to the customer.
We are looking for someone who has large scale system architectural skills and a solid understanding across the breadth of the Azure Technology stack. Azure NetApp Files is a first-class Azure service, which means it has to meet all of the Azure Fundamentals requirements in terms of Security, Reliability, Availability, and Durability. At the same time, there is a lot of innovation happening with the service and many years of feature development to deliver. On top of this, Azure NetApp Files will be integrating rapidly with many more Azure services and ISVs. The preferred candidate will have a great ability to understand scenarios, bring and leverage their knowledge and understanding of Azure to light up the scenarios, and work across all parts of Azure as well as collaborate with NetApp to deliver the scenarios into customer hands. The candidate must be hands on enough to be able to prototype solutions and help debug issues across the entire Azure technology stack. Excellent communication skills are required in order to collaborate effectively across Azure and NetApp, including guiding a variety of NetApp teams on design, development, and operations. Experience working with NFS Storage systems is required; experience working with NetApp Storage technology is preferred but not required.
The position requires:
- 4+ years of working experience in software
- Experience in writing code in C++, C#, Java
- Experience with common Azure toolsets such as Azure CLI and Azure PowerShell
- Experience with NFS Storage systems
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Passion for customers
- Good collaboration skills and excellent communication skills
- BS, MS, or equivalent experience
- Preference for candidates with either prior Cloud Solutions Architect experience OR significant equivalent/related customer solution and collaboration experience
