The Language team in Azure Cognitive Services is on a mission to provide the state-of-the-art natural language services for a range of innovative products serving internal and external customers. Our team plays an important role in this organization and is responsible for serving custom models for language understanding built on deep learning technologies.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual who can help drive and deliver our vision of a performant, cloud hosted runtime platform for realizing Language Understanding in the burgeoning space of Conversational AI bots. We are a fast-moving team with a passion for providing the best experience for our internal and external customers when it comes to understanding spoken and text interactions with intelligent agents. As a member of the team, you will ensure that our runtime is robust, scalable, and able to move with the times when it comes to the evolving space of NLP. The runtime will provide low latency responses for user input and be able to scale seamlessly for a growing customer base. You will be working with a team of engineers and applied scientists who are focused on rapidly delivering value to our customers. You will also be working across teams to bring additional impact to related products and to deeply understand and leverage their work.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience (C++, C#, or Java)
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Kubernetes)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an engineering leadership role including driving technical direction, managing planning and execution through scrum or similar process
  • Experience with machine learning and ONNX runtimes
  • Experience analyzing and diagnosing systems for performance optimization
  • Experience with multi-threading and async patterns
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and other cloud technologies
