Microsoft Research is looking for a talented Data Scientist with a background in graph data mining. Special Projects at Microsoft Research has a group dedicated to the research and development of new graph algorithms at scale. The team actively works with product groups to apply these methods to emerging challenges. The selected candidate from this job posting will join a team of applied statisticians, computer scientists, and collaboration to explore and solve problems in search, workplace productivity, and tech fraud among many other areas of application.
Responsibilities for this role will involve working with graph data in an applied science role to study clustering, ranking, prediction, and graph embedding using emerging methods of graph machine learning. Fields of application will include organizational science, metrics on resilience, cybersecurity, and search engine experiences. This role will involve working closely with program managers, developers, and product stakeholders to evaluate prototypes and performance of newly developed systems.
- PhD (completed or close to completion) in Computer Science or related field
- Demonstrate ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Specialization on graph machine learning
- Research ability demonstrated by journal and conference publications and/or preprints.
- Experience developing and deploying analytics at scale in distributed application frameworks such as Apache Spark.
